A spectacular 19th century Welsh Victorian pine chest of drawers in its original black paint. Naturally aged with bitumen blistering, the moulded rounded oversailing top over an arrangement of five graduated drawers, two short over two long, with the original knobs to each, the whole sitting on a plinth and surviving from the mid Victorian period. All completely untouched, the drawers stand very solid and glide nicely on their recesses. The current patina would’ve been due to it being placed near a fireside or heat source in the 19th century. Of fantastic roomy size and able to be placed into a period or contemporary setting. The plinth is removable for easier transportation on which the chest sits on.
